Maybelline Color Show Polka Dots

Jelly polishes are high in trend at the moment, so Maybelline have introduced a brand new limited edition; color show polka dots collection to the UK. Rain Forest Canopy is my latest purchase and it is a deep teal jelly based colour in which various sizes of black and white matte hex glitter chunks are suspended within. They are priced at £2.99 each but are currently part of the 3 for 2 promotion at Superdrug. The collection consists of four polishes in total: Chalk dust, Shooting stars, Rain forest canopy and Speckled pink.

Because it's packed with so many hexagonal glitters, application is a little tricky. I've used two coats here to get a full, even coverage but you could go ahead and do 3 coats if you wanted a more opaque depth of colour. As you apply layers, the white glitters get covered by the jelly base, taking on different hues of green, and this adds a lovely depth and dimension to the nail.
